These Tree Cutting Photo Sessions at Emmerich Tree Farm are designed to feel different—real, relaxed, and rooted in the way your family actually is. As the only photographer approved to shoot at the farm during tree-cutting season, I offer a one-of-a-kind experience you won’t find anywhere else.

Q. Do I need to pre-book my photo session or can I just show up with my family?
Pre-booking is required to reserve your photo session spot (no walk-ins). I am the only professional photographer authorized to be on site at Emmerich Tree Farm during tree cutting season.
Q. Do I need to pre-register with Emmerich Tree Farm in addition to signing up for a photo session?
No. While regular visitors need to pre-register through Emmerich Tree Farm to gain access, when you sign up for a tree cutting photo session with me, your vehicle will already be registered with Emmerich Tree Farm.
Q. This is my first time getting professional photos taken with my family! What can I expect from our time with you?
We will spend the first 10 minutes taking some relaxed portraits of your family. Then the rest of the time will be spent documenting your family's quest for the perfect tree! Once your tree is found, cut, and hauled back up to the barn for processing, there is a beautiful gift shop to peruse with hot cocoa for patrons. Food is available for purchase via food truck(s) and a giant fire pit with plenty of seating looks out of the gorgeous property.
Q. Can my dog be part of the portrait session?
Yes! Dogs are family members too! As long as you pick up after them and are respectful of the property and its patrons, dogs are welcome. Emmerich Tree Farm's policy states "All dogs must be kept on a leash and be well behaved around other dogs and children. If a dog is unruly, we will have to ask that they be romped for the safety of our guests."
Q. How many photos do you take?
While there are no guarantees of number of final images, for a typical 1 hour session, I usually deliver approximately 25-50 final images of varying compositions per online gallery.
Q. What happens after the photo session? When will I get to see my photos?
This season I'm excited to announce your online gallery will be ready to view and order 72 hours after your photo session! Your online gallery will be open for 5 DAYS ONLY for downloading and purchasing any additional photographic prints.
Q. Is the 5 day period my online gallery is open the only time I will be able to access my photos?
Yes. In order to have products ready in time for Christmas, orders must be placed before your gallery closes.
Q. But I am the most indecisive person in the world! What if I need help with ordering?
If you need any assistance with your order, whether it be selecting the right photo for the right product, or narrowing down images to your favorites, I am happy to schedule a video chat or phone call with you during those 5 consecutive days.
